About Us

UW American Family Children’s Hospital is a comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical center located in Madison, Wisconsin, and part of UW Health. Located next to UW Health University Hospital, the hospital provides specialized medical and surgical care for infants, children and adolescents, bringing together pediatric physicians, surgeons, nurses and other specialists dedicated to caring for young patients and their families.

The hospital is a 111-bed pediatric facility with nationally recognized specialists across a broad range of pediatric disciplines. Its services include advanced neonatal and pediatric care, pediatric surgery, cardiology, cancer care, emergency medicine, critical care and other specialized services. The hospital also operates a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, providing highly specialized care for children with serious or complex medical needs.
